古蹟保存的爭議
每次的古蹟保存之戰，想要拆除的一方，都是老建物的所有權人，而反對拆除的一方，則多是文史工作者及觀光業者。
古蹟的所有權人認為，自家財產要如何處置，外人沒權利管；甚至為了避免將來房產受公部門管制，就算目前尚無規劃，也要趕在外人發現其歷史價值以前，先行拆除或破壞。這句名言因而流傳：如果指定古蹟，一定發生火災。
希望保存的一方則認為，老屋保存社區歷史文化，普遍說法是「歷史文化是全民公共財」，所有權人不應獨斷獨行；況且保存老建築又能促進觀光，有利社區經濟繁榮。
因為產生了屋主和文史工作者彼此價值觀和利益的衝突。
台灣燈會
臺灣燈會（英語譯名：Taiwan Lantern Festival）是臺灣自1990年起於每年元宵節舉行之燈藝節慶活動，由中華民國交通部觀光局主辦。原為僅在臺北市舉辦的「臺北燈會」，2001年起改名並移師全國各縣市舉辦，成為全國性的國家級活動。另外，原本的臺北燈會，則改由臺北市政府接手舉辦，並改名臺北燈節。
今年2019年的台灣燈會主要在屏東大鵬灣舉辦。
主燈-巨鮪來富 台灣燈會第30屆主燈設計，特別突破生肖的造型表現，以「巨鮪來富」的主題意象 。
在燈會期間，會有各企業各學校製作的燈飾在現場展示。
在元宵節這天，還會有各式各樣的表演節目並且會施放美麗的煙火。
Taiwan Lantern Festival
Since 1990, The Lantern Festival held in the end of Chinese New Year by the
Tourism Taiwan.
Every year a different city will be picked to celebrate Lantern Festival.
Last year it was held in Jiayi, this year it was held in PingDong.
There will be a special theme for the main lantern. This year the theme is
called “Big Tuna bring Fortune.”
Thousands of hand made lanterns by different artists or students will be shown
in the exhibition.
It is free, and the local government is welcoming everyone to come and visit.
During the show time, there will be many performance going on, and also
beautiful firework you can watch.
